McGrath Foundation $10,000 raised
The McGrath Foundation Pink Day @ the Bowlo was a great success. Raising over $10,000, it was a magnificent result for a club of our size.
Thanks to all members who took part and the generosity of other locals who not only donated goods and services but bid strongly for many items auctioned.

Kiama wins Coolum, two years running
Well, the contingent from Kiama to Coolum has done it again! Two years in a row!
Over the Easter weekend the Kiama team, 10 in all, returned conquering heroes with Bairdie and Whitie winning the Coolum Aged Care Prestige Open Pairs Tourament while in another coup, Cameron and kevin won the Repechage Final at Noosa on Monday. Congratulations to all the social team for representing the club and in particular the victors.
They also won the Best dressed award. (Not sure whether the dressing was to the left, on the salads or on their backs.) congratulations to Cameron Baker for the imaginative and spectacular uniforms the team wore. Many comments were made about the uniform and some clubs have shown an interest in using his art work. How good is that!
Two ex-Kiama lads, Alex Williamson and Anthony Young played at Coolum and were responsible for eliminating the then winning pairing which opened the door for Kiama's eventual winners. The Kiama Konnection at work again.
Well done to all who contributed to very successful trip for all.
The following photo shows the team celebrating. L to R

Front row: Coolum local known as klinger, Ian.
NB The two finger salute is for victory, second year running.

Engadine Visit 17th March 2013
What a turnout and what a magnificent day! Thank you one and all for making the day an outstanding success. We had 44 bowlers on the day which almost matched the 46 that came South to enjoy the magnificent Kiama sunshine - we won’t mention the breeze!
Despite the difficulties with catering, that were overcome magnificently by Lyn, Jean and Gloria with able assistance from Peter W. and ever willing chefs Billy and Rob, I think that lunch was better than we have had for many a year.
Engadine always make it very easy to socialise and it is a pleasure to enjoy their company, the only sad part is that we have to wait another year for it to happen again. And we won’t even mention the score!
Check out the image gallery of the visit.
Our next official travelling bowlers day is a trip to Birrong on the 19th May and it would be fantastic to get similar numbers. Put it in your diaries!
In the meantime don’t forget that the club has their Pink Day on Saturday 13th April in support of the McGrath Foundation. We are hoping for a fine day and full greens which means a max of 120 bowlers so start putting your names down now - we need your support.

Men’s Major Singles 2012

The final of this prestigious event was played on Sunday between Geoff McIntyre and Kevin Pepper, with rain drizzle throughout most of the match.
Geoff got away to a good start, going to an 11-1 lead before Kevin started to claw his way back into the match with some fine draw bowling and conversion shots. Kevin got to within 7 shots with Geoff still leading 22-15. The match was fairly even over the closing stages, the final score being 31-22. We saw some top class bowls in this match from both players.
Congratulations to Geoff on another title and to Kevin on a fine effort in reaching the final.
