Bowls Report

Kiama-Bowlo-200

The Major Triples 1st round went as expected, but round two had a few surprises.  Last year's winners, J Twist, A Schofeled and S Wiills were beaten 31-9 by A Tarbert, M Miller and W Toulman, the score was a shock but there was more to come.

Three number 7 Pennant players, G Mowbray, G Barkham and G Clarke beat three number 2 players, A VanZanon, T Boniface and M Weir 24-22.  The rest of the round scores were very close.

The semi-finals are this Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Travelling mixed bowlers have a game against Engadine on Sunday Morning, weather permitting.

Mixed Pennants payed on Monday morning - 14 clubs (2 teams of 4 each) finished the 12 week tournament.  Kiama came in as runners-up to Nowra who ws the onky tea to beat both Kiama's teams.  Well done and hopefully net year we will win.

Results of triples so far are:

M Wilson, B Bromley, R Campbell 25 - 15 A Stewart R Blanch C Coleman
C Baker D Newman T Martin 36 - 11 C Twigg, G Bartrim, G Clarke
S Rous, C Rolls, B Rossiter 31 -15 T Jones, L Jones, I Baird

Triples advance to Zone Triples Championship

Kiama-Bowlo-200The big news of the week was that of our triples team J. Heidtman/A. Rogers and K. Pepper advancing to the final of the Zone Triples Championship. A close fought game saw them within a whisker of success in the final but the team from Towradgi Park eventually proved too strong on the day and the boys had to settle for runners up. Nevertheless that was a result to be proud of.

Well done lads!!
