Bowls Report September

Kiama-Bowlo-200

Mixed Fours are down to the last 4 teams:

S Read, H Joske, W Read, D Gorham

R Jones, R Campbell, T Jones, B Campbell

C Coleman, C Dawson, J Kirk, T Hogson

A Vanzanen, G O'Donnell, A Evans, T Boniface

Our 4s team are through to the final of the Zone 16 Champion of Cahmpion after defeating Thirroul 24-10; Wisemans Park 23-9 and Bellambi 24-18 in the semi final. We wish A Vanzane, J Heidtmann, N Tylee and A Rodgers the best of luck for the final.

This weekend sees the start of the last of the mens competitions with the Major Minors.  We have 34 teams competing. The men have entered the Club Challenge and so far have won one and lost one game.

There have been a lot of barefoot bowlers playing and the Bucks parties are certainly the most colourful!!

Camp Quality held a charity dat at the Club recently with barefoot bowling, raffles and Auctions.  They had a very good day and we congratulate the orgainisers.

If anyone is organising a fun day for their Club or Company's Christmas celebrations then think about barefoot bowls - and our Seaview Bistro serves delicious foot - but book early to avoid disappointment.

Ladies and mens social days are well supported as usual although the weather was not kind to us on 25 September when our greens were flooded.

The ladies recently hosted their Spring Carnival Day, kindly sponsored by Belle Property, Kiama and welcomed 20 teams of four from all over the Illawarra and South Coast.  Everyone had a brilliant day and the overall winners were J Seedhouse, S Paseila, M Stubbs and M Bruce from Dapto.

Next Thursday, the ladies are also holding a friendship day with the ladies from Shellharbour who are transferring to our Club when theirs closes in December.

Triples advance to Zone Triples Championship

Kiama-Bowlo-200The big news of the week was that of our triples team J. Heidtman/A. Rogers and K. Pepper advancing to the final of the Zone Triples Championship. A close fought game saw them within a whisker of success in the final but the team from Towradgi Park eventually proved too strong on the day and the boys had to settle for runners up. Nevertheless that was a result to be proud of.

Well done lads!!

Gambling Help

Research shows that gamblers tend to remember their wins more than their losses. But the reality is that nearly everyone will lose money over a long period of time. This tool helps you to work out how much you will lose on average over a year if you keep gambling at your usual rate.
