Men's and Ladies social bowls have continued to be well supported.
The Ladies had their annual visit from Dapto BC and a good day was had by all. Kiama won the day 103 - 78.
The men's Major/Minor Pairs was completed and the final was won by B Gorrison and R Blakey, defeating M Miler and M Ganderton. B Gorrison replaced R Netherclift for the semi and final and the new pairing was too good for the two Micks.
This is the second Championship R Blakey has won this year. Congratulations.
The mixed Triples were completed within two weekends. well done to all who entered. The Championship was very much a family affair as T Rossiter played with his Nan and Pop, the Tarbets, but it was the Jones family that stood out with Les Jones, brother Trevor and his daughter Bronwyn Campbell who took the title beating last year's finalists A Evans, M Weir, A Vanxanen 28-24 in a very close and competitive final. The winning team may change next year because Trevor's grandson Ruben is now playing - watch this space.
The Mixed Fours finals could be played this week and it is the start of the Mixed Pairs.
Travelling Bowlers had two good weekend against Cabra Vale with the Past Presidents - 84 bowlers and lunch for 98 and last Sunday against Birrong, 56 bowlers and 70 sat down for lunch. Kiama came out winners on both days.
The ladies Consistency Singles Final was played on Thursday (11th) between Jackie Kirk and Cathy Dawson, with Jackie winning 136- 134. The game was a very long battle - exciting to watch - and both ladies produced some wonderful bowling. Congratulations to both for a truly competitive final.

Ladies and mens social days are well supported as usual although the weather was not kind to us on 25 September when our greens were flooded.
The ladies recently hosted their Spring Carnival Day, kindly sponsored by Belle Property, Kiama and welcomed 20 teams of four from all over the Illawarra and South Coast. Everyone had a brilliant day and the overall winners were J Seedhouse, S Paseila, M Stubbs and M Bruce from Dapto.
Next Thursday, the ladies are also holding a friendship day with the ladies from Shellharbour who are transferring to our Club when theirs closes in December.
We held our Minor Singles Championship on 18th September. It was a hard fought game with the eventual winner being Barbara Roser with Sharon Brown runner-up.

L to R: Major Pair Finalists. Mick Weir, Terry Boniface, Brad Rossiter and Alister Tarbert who
incidentally is a life member of our club and just shy of his 80th birthday.
Congratulations to Jimmy Twist the winner of the Mens Minor Singles championship(on left) Condolences to Mick Miller who played a strong game, but not enough to beat Jimmy on the day.
The big news of the week was that of our triples team J. Heidtman/A. Rogers and K. Pepper advancing to the final of the Zone Triples Championship. A close fought game saw them within a whisker of success in the final but the team from Towradgi Park eventually proved too strong on the day and the boys had to settle for runners up. Nevertheless that was a result to be proud of.
Well done lads!!
